Cedric Jimenez

Cédric Jimenez is originally from Marseille, and he takes great pride in it, his accent is proof enough. He became a film enthusiast at the age of 12 and later worked as a model at 19 after being discovered in New York by photographers such as Meisel, Avedon, Roversi, and Testino. Cédric is one of the most sensational talents in French cinema.

After Aux yeux de tous (2012), he directed La French (2014), starring Jean Dujardin, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. He followed it with HHhH (2017), starring Rosamund Pike, Mia Wasikowska and Jason Clarke. BAC Nord (2021), with Gilles Lellouche, François Civil and Karim Leklou, screened out of competition at Cannes. It drew more than two million admissions, earned eight César nominations and won the 2022 César des lycéens. Novembre (2022), which follows the five-day investigation after the November 13 attacks, also screened out of competition at Cannes. It drew nearly 2.4 million admissions in France and received seven nominations at the 2023 César Awards.

His latest film, Chien 51 (2025), adapted from Laurent Gaudé’s novel and starring Gilles Lellouche, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Louis Garrel, closed the 2025 Venice Film Festival. It drew 1.38 million admissions in France.
