Fenn O'Meally

The elegance and vulnerability that Fenn O’Meally’s films and photography capture originate from her desire to connect human to human with the individual/s on the other side of the lens. There is a love for sharing the tender, raw and honest anecdotes of human life at the core of her work. Born in Birmingham and of Jamaican heritage, for Fenn the camera is a way to explore and study human stories, many of which observe her Caribbean roots. With a background of dance, the movement in her visuals see her lean on her early childhood love of movement and music. She has directed films for some of the world’s leading brands including; Nike, Burberry, Byredo, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, and Prada among many others, and worked with some of the World’s most exciting artists, including Jorja Smith, Letitia Write, Sampha and Spike Lee. Her recent works include documenting Kendrick Lamar’s The Big Steppers Tour as well as a boundary-breaking exhibition at the Tate Modern, curated by Lilttle Simz.

In addition to being selected for the class of Young Guns 18 and winning a YDA for her music video “Us in Major” for JNR Williams, Fenn was most recently named the Ad Age Creativity Awards 2021 Director to Watch. She is fast emerging as a standout talent, bringing a fresh and original voice to the world of film and photography.
